My wife's Highlander doesn't have a tow package on it with a transmission cooler etc like my 4runner does. I'm getting it more for the ability to use a cargo box and a bike rack.
But if I want to tow a 5x10 utility trailer (700lbs) with a go cart or atv, it shold be able to handle it right?

I would think so. Especially if it is going to be only occasional towing. Just keep it out of OD to be safe

Should be fine as long as you're not piling 3000 pounds of cargo on that trailer.
