I'd like to see the fallout from this story a year from now. The whole scam of the phelps family is that they are all lawyers. They go around pissing in everyone's cheerios until someone steps out of line and then they sue them.

I don't think they believe any of the stuff they say, it is just a money making scheme, and it seems to be working.

Cmon bro, let's stick to comparing apples to apples. If you go to a synagogue and stick signs in the faces of the Jewish proclaiming them to be heretics and damned then, yeah your butt needs a good kicking and you should have your "freedom" curtailed. It's not your right to speak that's at issue with these scumbags, it's the rights of parent and families to grieve with dignity. If the westboro scum don't get it I think they should be given the opportunity to grieve and have people return the favor at their funerals.

Your rights end where my rights begin. They have the right to free speech and protest, but what they are doing is harassment. Why can't it be treated as such? Can families request restraint orders against the "church" along funeral prosession routes or at the services? Then they could be legitimately arrested. Abuse of police power is a slippery slope to trouble, whether the slope is tilted right or left.
