I have bought online from JM Bullion . Just last night I bought a 5 oz Sunshine Mint bar from a bullion dealer on ebay. Ebay is a decent place for buying silver as long as you stick to the reputable dealers. It's also a good source if you want to buy 90% silver.
I am lucky enough to have a local dealer in Warner Robins called Wellston Gold and Silver Exchange. They don't charge much over spot price but you have to bring cash.

I just started buying some this weekend and bought a few pieces from all 3 of the above online places (JM Bullion, Apmex and Provident) plus Littleton, Money Metal Exchange and Perspectiva. Pretty much just used my introductory coupons/deals...
If your going to buy from private party get a silver test kit, u might not know the percentage of silver by a test kit, but u will know silver or something else
