Where to eat at Jeckyl Island

Back in the day (the mid-80s), the Buccaneer Club in Darien served calabash-style (like the restaurants in Calabash, NC) shrimp piled high on the plate and it was an all-you-can-eat restaurant. I think the Darien location was shut down and relocated to Brunswick and it may be closed for the winter season. But the Crab Trap on St. Simons is my favorite if you're just going to eat seafood and aren't focused on ambiance because there may not be any. There are large holes in each table for disposing of shrimp and crab hulls. https://www.thecrabtrapssi.com/

update on The Wharf on Jekyll, views from dining outside at sunset.

Found another Jekyll hidden gem. Zachary’s River House. Small joint, off the beaten path, great food and full service bar. Does not take reservations.
