Harvest on Main is a good spot, make reservations if a Friday or Saturday night. I grabbed a seat at their bar last night and enjoyed the meatloaf.
Chester’s is "upscale" bar food and is the place I frequent most up there. First off it is open every day for dinner where most places are Wednesday or Thursday - Saturday. Second, the food is solid. They have a great burger and the wings are some of the best around. My wife usually gets one of the flat breads. Excellent selection of beer as well.
Toccoa River Restaraunt out Aska Rd. has good trout selections. This is one of our regular spots, I usually go for the Cajun or crab stuffed .
Cucina Rustica is in Morgantown and is owned by the same people as Harvest. Supposed to be really good Italian, but we have not made it in there yet.
For grab and go, I go to Rum Cake Lady. Small red shack on 1st, awesome empanadas and Cuban sandwiches.
I've hit up Mike's for BBQ a couple of times now, and it's worth a stop. Fair warning, I haven't sampled any other BBQ places in the area. I grew up on brisket though and theirs is actually smoked instead of being a roast like many places.
Best place I know to eat in Blue Ridge is still my mother’s house. We were lucky enough to go up for Christmas dinner yesterday and spend time with my mom, dad, brothers, and family. I grew up there but can honestly say I liked it better before it became a tourist destination. Traffic was horrible.
I can attest that the locals hate the traffic and changes.
We visit her family every weekend, and if you get behind a slow car in the left lane most times it is an idiot with a FL tag.
