you can do more, I am just pointing out it is plenty for 1k and unless you have 50+ acres you are going to struggle to get a range setup over that.

50bmg is as cheap as I've seen it in 10-12 years. Sgammo has it for under $3 a round. A lot of hunting ammo cost that right now.

I've been thinking of buying a box of ammo a month. I have about 200 rounds of FMJ and match. So when the .50 does come home, I'll have plenty of inventory of ammo. You also forgot glass.
