Who has or is using Accurare 5744 or Shooters Buffalo rifle

What calibers have you tried ? How did you like it ?

i use it in 30-30/308/7-08/30-223/and 7 tcu. i use it for cast bullets loads. but,,,,,the price has gone too high for a eight pound jug. way over $225.00. so now i use shooters world buffalo rifle in place of 5744. per shooters world buffalo rifle is 5744. at one time shooters world (lovex) made some of the accurate powders and 5744 was one of them. it is a great powder for 45-70, reduced loads and cast lead load for just about all rifle cartridges.

when 5744 and other powders prices went over $200.00 for 8 pounds i started looking for a replacement. i found shooters world powders. i talked with ken johnson of shooters world about a replacement for 5744, varget, and titegroup. johnson told me buffalo rifle is a good replacement for 5744. so i did research and found that it was. at one time shooters world had the statement that buffalo rifle was a replacement for 5744. now shooters world states buffalo rifle is close to 4759. on the burn rate chart 5744 and buffalo rifle are the same in burn rate. hard to pay the price for 5744 when buffalo rifle is cheaper and does the same thing.

I load 38-55 and 30-30 with 5744 .

I used it a lot in 30-06 (150 jacketed) and 45-70 (405 cast), and have run out. It worked well. I have since been using other powders, but not because I didn't like the 5744.
