Please, please, don't vote for Collin Kaepernick. If you vote, you may be banned for 24 hours... lol
Seriously. And to add to this, watching some of the college bowl games last night there was this BIG boy on Oregon's O-Line. Guy was a beast. They said he also excelled at basketball because of his speed. So these big boys can MOVE! Imagine a guy that's 6'4" over 300lbs still able to run faster than you.Hell...the avg. size of an American male back in the 40's was like what?...5'9?
How good would Taylor been without his drugs?Best defensive back = Ronnie Lott hands down. He made some of the most brutal hits ever.
Best offensive player = Joe Montana. Montana won more games in the last few minutes.
Also Lawrence Taylor another brutal hitter.
A lot of what you say is true but then again they played smashmouth football not you can hit me hard football. Some of these new breed guy's wouldn't last a quarter if they were hit as hard as they did a few years ago, they would be screaming for a flag.Hell you can't hit a quarterback high or low or at the sideline.Soon as you throw a ball to a wide receiver he's throwing his hands up for a flag. Might as well play flag football. It's just the facts, if the "tough" guys you remember growing were playing today they would be the smallest, slowest, and weakest men on the field. They would be getting bounced around like a little ping pong ball by a bunch of dudes in dread locks. It would look more like something out of the BBC section of pornhub than it would a football game
A lot of the reason for the new rules though is because of the larger, faster, stronger guys. If you took a hit like that today in the gear they wore back then you'd have some seriously injured, if not killed players. Most of the rules evolved because of the guys back then getting seriously injured, and then they discovered the whole CTE thing. I do agree there was a difference in the toughness though. Guys sit out with turf toe now, when back then they played with their teeth knocked out lol.A lot of what you say is true but then again they played smashmouth football not you can hit me hard football.
