Who makes the absolute best AR lowers?

It does to me as well which is why initially I only posted the picture of the other side. When looking at the other side you can clearly see that it is a metal lower.

-----EDIT-----

After doing a bit a research it appears that is infact a Carbon Fiber lower.

Thanks. I was trying to make my brain see metal there, but it just wasn't happening lol.

Fwiw, I have considered one of those polymer lowers for a dedicated .22 build. I don't care how many good reviews and torture tests get posted, I just can't make see using a plastic lower for anything serious.

I agree that lowers are all of similar quality but I think there is some value, beyond monetary (resale), in having a matching upper/lower. Just something about one brand on top of another that irks me. lol. Just a personal preference, I suppose.

If I was going through the trouble of building an SBR, I'd find the upper I plan to buy first and then buy a matching lower if available.

I agree. Over the years my uppers have all migrated to matching lowers. I still have several uppers that I am looking for matching lowers for, but I am slowly getting them all matched. The problem is I keep finding deals on uppers and it creates more work for me. I'm anal, I know.
