It does to me as well which is why initially I only posted the picture of the other side. When looking at the other side you can clearly see that it is a metal lower.

After doing a bit a research it appears that is infact a Carbon Fiber lower.
I agree that lowers are all of similar quality but I think there is some value, beyond monetary (resale), in having a matching upper/lower. Just something about one brand on top of another that irks me. lol. Just a personal preference, I suppose.
If I was going through the trouble of building an SBR, I'd find the upper I plan to buy first and then buy a matching lower if available.
I DID NOT know, sirI agree. Over the years my uppers have all migrated to matching lowers. I still have several uppers that I am looking for matching lowers for, but I am slowly getting them all matched. The problem is I keep finding deals on uppers and it creates more work for me. I'm anal, I know.

Speak of the devil.....PSA has blemished lowers on sale for $59! Probably won't last long.
