Who's a fan of the Plantation Buffet in Athens

I used to go there after I graduated from UGA and was working in Athens. I recently went back for the first time since about 1993 and it was still a great simple country buffet. Apparently it has been in continuous operation since the 60's with different owners. Its a no frills place, with good food made by nice people. Its very popular, black, white, fat, thin, business men in suits, cops in uniform and construction workers all enjoying a good meal. It feels real old school which is nice in this ever changing world. Im going for lunch tomorrow with an old friend... been looking forward to it all week

The plantation buffet started out as Hanley’s in 70s . Used to eat there pretty regular! Haven’t been since about 85 or so ! Going to have to check them out next week when I’m in Athens.
