That Mossberg in post #9 looks like genuine stainless rather than the Mariner finish. If I ever found one for sale, I would probably need to buy it.

I knew I had seen that somewhere. I believe you are right. Walker used a stainless Mossberg occasionally.
As a kid I always drooled over his truck and that shotgun
The silver Mossberg 500 pictured above isn't stainless steel.......all parts are coated in Marinecote, which was supposed to be more corrosion resistant than stainless steel, especially under saltwater exposure.

The reciever is aluminum but the barrel and tube are stainless. I will hopefully eventually talk my cousin out of his.
That may be the only way to get one. The Mossberg web site doesn't show a stainless/aluminum model. Only the Mariner other than the usual blue, black, and camo.
I wish all I had was stainless. Tired of maintenance!
