Why aren't guns selling?

Don't worry the panic is coming soon enough! I've been reading about some credit card companies will not be allowing ammo or guns charged on their plastic any more, so people getting ammo deals online will be declining.

I can whine all I want because I still buy guns. It goes much deeper than price. Sellers are even to lazy to box one up and drop it off at the shipper at the buyers expense. They don't want to put any effort into the sale. I can't count the number of times I have seen a used gun for sale for 25 bucks less than Buds Gun Shop new price that ships free. Then say I'm not driving at this price. It's a combination of factors as to why they aren't selling. It doesn't take a degree in economics to decipher the issue.
Be sure to factor in sales tax from Bud's and most online sellers. Add another 7% to a $500.00-$600.00 gun and work the numbers, not including transfer fee for FFL.

Years ago, we had a saying in the car business….

"there's an ass for every seat"…..

Seems to hold true on ODT somewhat as well…. in 2020 through 2023 used guns seemed easier to sell and brought decent return on investment…. some even as much or more than at the store…. even buying online costs shipping plus FFL fees…. so if I could buy what I wanted for that much or less, I was (and still am) ok with that….. right now, it seems people are a little more conservative when buying anything…. but buyers are still out there…. ya just gotta be patient….

Another one of the sayings from the car business is "what you got for sale, is only worth as bad as the other guy wants it!"….. when store shelves have limited supplies as they did in 2021-2022 because of COVID and supply chain issues, there was greater urgency and incentive for many to "buy"…. probably not so much in the past six months…. so again…. be patient…. unless you’re pressed and need the money 'now'…. then ya gotta do, what ya gotta do

We had a saying in the car business ( finance) that I guess would apply to the sellers in here we would say " Hit em high and peel them off the ceiling! ". 🤣

Lol if yall think prices here are bad, try out a non-ODT gun show. Coworker gave me tickets, gun store prices +10% and they sweeten the deal with an Amazon airsoft optic.

People use this place for different things, but generally I understand that you get tired of something and sell it at a loss every single time because you got something better already and some money is better than a paperweight.

Offered a guy 75% asking price on an ad 6 months ago...Guess who relists the same thing this week.
Case in point right there!

Yeah but that's kind of a little bit worth it when you're looking at a new unmolested gun versus a pre-owned gun that you don't know how it's been run. I get transfer fees for 25 bucks. Sales tax is a gimme that's going on everything you buy. And I would rather pay that than give the guy $25 less then the new asking price just out of spite. LOL
