It's not perfect, but it is workable. And the ACOG is superb at distance, plus obviously built like a tank.

You do exactly what you say with an Acog, but there is a reason the LPVO has gained such a large following in a relatively short time. The ability to turn it to very low or even zero magnification when in close quarters gives it a distinct advantage over a fixed four power optic.

You can. It induces a large amount of parallax at close range.

Yes, they are tanks. Perhaps THE tank when it comes to magnified optics.
