Why do people leave guns in their cars especially overnight?

Why do people leave guns in their cars to be stolen? My neighbor left her pistol in her unlocked car over night and what do you know it got stolen.

Just to play devils advocate.....

Why do people leave their tv's just sitting out in their living rooms? That's just asking for someone to break in and steal it.

Theft happens, and that's unfortunate. The only thing between a thief and your belongings is a piece of glass whether its in your car or in your home.

Gun,phone,computer,wallet or whatever. If you leave it in your car it's a matter of time before it gets stolen. It was happening when I was young and it still happens today. It could be your driveway, mall parking lot, or gas station. It sucks but unfortunately we all need to do our best securing our stuff, but circumstances force us sometimes to leave it in the car/truck.

Meh...someone can break a pane of glass to get into my home but they aren't going to find a gun lying out on the coffee table or tucked under the mattress.
They want to cut into my safe? Only if they brought their own tools.

Why don't some people leave a gun with a blocked barrel in their car

When it unfortunately gets stolen it will blow up in the face of whoever winds up shooting it
