Why do posts get shut down so quicly and hats handed out?

Why does it hurt the mods so bad to see two men having an argument? We've been doing it since the dawn of time. I hate seeing good members get "Shut Up" because they hurt someone's feelers. I can understand not letting this place become a free for all but damn.

I think if they let it play out it would have not gone that far. I don't think it was as nefarious as some thought it was.

I am a mod on 2 different sites, and a member of lots more. Should I not be allowed to post here.
