I have a 9mm hi point rifle in an ati stock. all together I have $350 in the gun. it will shoot quarter sized groups at 75 yards with factory sights, its not the prettiest girl in school but she isn't ugly. so why does everyone talk so much crap about them?

Yeah- most of the hate goes toward their bricks- oops... "pistols" I had a hi-point carbine and put it in an ATI stock- it was a nice little rifle. My only complaint was that I got a nose full of burnt powder because the receiver has a hole on the left side. Other than that, it was an accurate and mostly reliable rifle. It did tend to smash a round every couple mags because the bullet didn't make it into the chamber.

I have no clue, my brother has one of the .45 carbines. I love it, ive shot the .40 cal handgun often also.. shoots great. too top heavy.
worst case scenario with a jam you get a pretty sick bludgeon

same reason people hate the base model dodge neon, its cheap, lacks any luxury at all, and lacks mostly any modern technology or design

so like the neon, its cheap and feels like it, but it will run reliably so it has its place in the world as a cheap firearm

Tell you what buddy. I think they are great guns for the money. Pistols and rifles! I have the c9 and .380. They are like bricks but never had any problems out of either. I own glocks, Rugers, and smiths but I still enjoy shooting the hi points. awesome warranty on the guns as well if you need be.

I haven't handled the pistol yet so I cant speak on it, but it isn't pretty. the only one ive seen in person looked exceptionally large but it was a 45. as far as the rifle goes it has been on point for me.
