Why does my car cut off & jerk while im driving

My idleaircontrol needed to be cleaned I went ahead and replaced it and now runs stronger with no cutoffs

Does it have throttle body fuel injection? If so check idle air control, its on the side of the throttle body. My 88 K5 did like you are describing and that was the problem. Easy fix if that's what it is.
