Why is everyone AFRAID TO SHIP A FIREARM?!

.

I don't mind shipping , but it will go through an FFL regardless of it being a handgun or rifle . I don't want a kid using his dads information to get it .

If I or your FFL do not put it in your hands . You don't get it . ( PERIOD ) Especially if were family . lol .

I keep all transactions in the sold folder provided by the site & e-mail a copy to myself just incase someone needs to track your IP address.

Maybe we should write a FAQ or a How TO about shipping guns... seems to be a lot of misconception and confusion about the process.

It's COMPLETELY legal to ship both handguns and long guns, as long as it's through UPS or FEDEX.

I believe both, you have to go to the hub. It's generally very cheap to ship, much cheaper than drive 50-100 miles (especially with the gas price recently).

I have no problem with shipping. I wish more people would be willing to ship guns. I'd have a bigger collection. Well... I'm kinda glad the dont sometime when I look at my bank account.

Anyway, if you use paypal and set it as "gift", there's no fee. It transfer from one bank account to the other user's paypal account. They then choose a check or direct deposit into their bank account. Easy peasy. If you use a credit card, I believe there's a 1.9% fee + .30 cents. Might be higher now.

Just make sure you dont ship across state lines........

The one problem for some people with shipping is MANY of the UPS and fedex places do not even know their own policy on shipping firearms. They give you bad info and waste your time and money. Its rather easy for me as I live 15 min away from the UPS hub in forest park. kinkos, ups store and places like that WILL NOT ship firearms. Period.

I don't ship for a few reasons:

1. I want to inspect the gun before I hand over the money.
2. I like to have it in hand when I pay for it and not wait for it to show up.
3. Like soviet said I don't trust the shipping companies for something that expensive.

I understand your dilemma tho NIXON

I've asked multiple times for this to be a sticky. I'm pretty sure ODT hierarchy doesn't want to appear to be giving out legal advise less they be held liable...that's what I am assuming anyway since I've never gotten any feedback.

I have nothing against using an FFL, but if is not needed what is the point. If someone wants a firearm bad enough they will get one, theirs nothing anyone could do to stop them. I understand your point, but I referring to doing business with a person who is legally allowed to own a firearm. I dont want to get into that other discussion...LOL

That's why you box it up, print your own label right off their site and request a pickup. No fuss, no muss.I have no problem shipping firearms, ammo, etc. And have done so many times.

So what would be the difference in receiving it from FFL as apposed to receiving it from another member? Aside from that, how do you think firearms get to your local gun shop? Or any other place where they are licensed to sell firearms? I think it safe, just to make sure you can add delivery conformation, insurance, ect...
