Why is everyone ditching the .40 cal

I have never even fired a 40 , much less owned one. I am at this time trying to trade into one.
I have heard it is a good round, but I grew up with 45's

I've got two 40's on the trader but not because they are 40's I'm keeping both my Glock 27's (40 S&W). My reasons for selling them is partially the old "want something different" bug and partially because I've wanted a PM45 for long enough. time to get one.

My primary carry will still be a G27. I like the caliber and the price is not too bad. As far as the .357 Sig goes, it really doesn't offer enough advantage to justify the price difference in my opinion.

So whats up with no one wanting the .40 cals any more,
is it price or hard to find,so are you ditching the .40 why????

It is more expensive than 9mm for range time. It's still an excellent round. I think there is an appearance of people getting rid of 40s because there are a lot of 40s out there... a lot of LEO trade-ins, etc. So, plenty of 22s and 23s. I love my 23 and am willing to pay the extra few dollars per box.
