As someone who is currently looking at buying another house, I can tell you that the reason people are paying above asking price on houses, is because the lack of houses on the market. So you have more demand out there than supply. There simply aren't that many houses on the market that meets our needs in the area we are considering. We will build before we get into a bidding frenzy though.
