Will this take care of TULA FOR GOOD?

Why doesnt that make sense? The whole point is to put financial pressure on Russia ... Now Russian oil gold etc would make MORE sense but since he doesn't like guns anyway.....

Thats what I was thinking but then again, really? I don't think the country is living off of us on gun sales. Honestly, I have no idea how much revenue Russia makes. So it could be that or maybe a small step in executive orders so the American people don't get too mad LOL.

I honestly think if Obama really wanted to hurt Russia's economy. Cut them off completely. Everyone is making money off of us. Reason why China is so rich. I know most countries don't even have a credit system like we do. If you don't have money, you don't buy. Our credit system is made up of numbers, not actual money and I think thats why we are burying our own hole.

Not to stand up for Obama, but these sanctions are to hurt Russia economically, not gun control aimed at the American sport shooter... Maybe???

I thought I read somewhere that 70% of saigas manufactured were imported into the US. This could be a huge blow for the company. But think about this, what if Barry came back and banned all russian arms/ammo manufacturers from the US? What would that do to the mosin nagant?

I'm curious to whats going to happen now that Russia shot that plane down. Do they just settle in the UN? Or just a slap on a wrist?

I think there is intelligence suggesting that the Russian government gave an air defense system to someone who shot down a Malaysian Commercial Aircraft killing almost 300 people. The most important companies sanctioned include Rosneft, Novatek and Gazprombank these are oil and natural gas companies and a bank that is owned by a gas company. It appears the firms were chosen based on them being lead or owned by people close to the government and military. These sanctions make it illegal for US citizens or companies to do business with sanctioned companies and individuals. Most importantly the assets held in US banks are frozen and they can not borrow money in the US bond market, I imagine the London and EU banks will have similar sanctions. I think the goal of the sanctions is to make giving weapons to Ukrainian separatists financially expensive on a personal level to key regime members. Now it is possible someone in the White house thought they could back door some gun control as a result of the situation but the parent company of Kalsihnakov concern is ROSTEC produces 90% of Russian army small arms and it mission statement right on the top of their website is "The furtherance of State policy for industrial development and modernization." I think they are likely a legitimate target for US sanctions. I hope sanctions against Russia are effective and that once US policy goals are achieved they will be reviewed appropriately without a bias against us gun customers.

Same thing that happened to them in '83 when they shot down the Korean plane and in '88 when we shot down that Iranian Air Flight. Words flinging and an eventual settlement to the family. We gave around $62 million to the families of that Iranian flight in compensation.
