exactly my point, where did all those solids go?most counties its illegal. Bacteria treatments work. We tested over 5 year period from new tank, then followed sound advice and then had it opened again, no solids at all.

Do what you like. I think the bacteria churn up the water and help clog up the field lines. Lint from wash water is worse. The solids have to go somewhere in some form. I'd perfer they settle out and pump the tank. I don't see the benefit of no solids in the tank.
My mom used to always tell us growing up "On this toilet do not linger, if no paper use your finger."
been there! They gave us 60page books on what not to do...saw this in there...too funny.Hey, isn't there a group of people that find it very RUDE to shake with your left hand, and they never eat with their left hand. Now who was that....
What i am saying is that the solids leave the first chamber because they pass to the second chamber where they enter the field lines. The bacteria eats the solids. Have you ever seen a drain field clogged from solids that were never kept in check? Sludge formed on the surface of the water from grease and other items send down the drains, sending the solids into the drain field when toilet flushed, cause it could not settle to the bottom. Its a whole eco system in that tank , and if not managed at some point you will be digging it up if left unchecked.
If you ever owned a boat or RV, check with them about RV clean they use in their tanks to get rid of the solids. We use it in our outhouse at deer camp and the solids are eaten. We can see it first hand when we return each weekend.Just trying to help others out that may not otherwise give a second thought. Sure you can say I never had to do anything to my septic system, but if you live there long enough, it will catch up to you or the next person who buys that house. Why take the chance of having to spend thousand to repair something when you can do preventive maintenance.JMHO
