Wood turning

I turn game calls (mostly duck calls) in the winter. Little to hot in the garage this time of year.

My granddaughter holding a pair of walnut drum sticks. She did most of them, I did the finish turning and she sanded.

I've been looking for the past year now to get into turning. I finally finished my garage where I have the room now for it. What lathe Is everyone using? I'm looking at a rikon and the Nova comet II .

Rikon 70-220 VSR is what I'm using. It is a 12-21...12 inches of turning capacity and 21 inches between centers. Rikon also has the best customer service out there...5 year warranty as well.

Good looking work.

The bowl looks great. How did you do it? It looks a little like it's an oval, or is that an optical allusion?

Anyone else here turn wood as a hobby? So far I've made several pens from wood, acrylic, and antler. Going to try a small bowl or pepper Mills. But right now sticking to pens.

My Dog Passed today, I would like a All Weather Cross for his Grave, do you make these? Does not have to be Big.But needs to Say (MAC-MAC,I will always LOVED YOU, DAD! ) thanks
