Got to be so that I was embarrassed to have folks over! LOL

In addition to just being cluttered, it made things hard to find at times.

Bought 3 new rolling toolboxes that fit under the bench, got a lot of stuff off the bench and into said toolboxes, and spread out some of the tools and such that were already in drawers.

If’n ya need help with something, give me a holler!

Semper Fi!

Built the bench myself shortly after we moved in about 12 years ago. The long side on the left is 12’ long and 28.5” deep. The short leg at the far end is 56” wide and 34” deep.

I prefer to work standing up, so I made the bench tall; the surface is at 43”.

The surface is made of 2”x6” boards butted edge-to-edge, with a 2”x4” framework and runners. The frame is lag-bolted to the studs every 16”, then there’s a 45 degree 2”x4” brace from the front edge of the bench back to a stud every 32”. The very top is fiberboard for a tough, smooth surface that I can replace if needs be; it’s still the original surface, in perfect shape except for some stains.

1”x4” edge all the way around, raised 1/16” above the edge of fiberboard. Keeps stiff from rolling off but still easy to sweep clean.

All hardware is bolts and screws, no nails.

Vise was a Valentine’s Day gift from my shortly after we moved into our first house.
