Work/ranch boot recs?

I wore them In summer and winter all across the country. Extremely comfortable boots. Probably on the high end cost wise but worth every penny.

what size do you wear

10.5-11. Depends on mfg.

When I mechanic’d 20 years ago, I wore Rocky 8” lace ups. I went through 2-3 pairs over the years. Very comfortable. The most comfortable boot I ever wore was a Justin “Cheyenne” that they discontinued years ago. I wish I had 5 pairs of them on the shelf. View attachment 9200251

They just look like they'd be hot? This will be mostly outside, and too often in the sun.

You ought to look into Jim Green footwear, they're a South African company. I just got these not too long ago, you get a ton of boot for the money. $325 after taxes and shipping. No synthetics besides thermoplastic toe and heel counter and a single foam insole (and the outsole, if you count that). 360 stitch down construction on these with a full gusset tongue and combo roughout/nubuck 8" uppers. I've been very impressed with the quality of these so far, though I haven't put them through any really strenuous stuff yet, so I can't tell you exactly how mine have performed in detail. Jim Green's boots usually receive stellar reviews though.

I wear Red Wings, Danners , and Irish Setters (made by Red Wing I believe), all are great boots, very comfortable (the Red Wings will have to be broken in first though) and will give you long-term durability. I hear that BRUNT makes some great boots as well but I have no experience wearing them.

Red wings Used to wear these when I worked on the rigs in the Gulf. Best boot ever made. They do have soft toe also

Thorogood makes a good boot
best work boots I ever had were Redwings - Justin was a close second
all USA made

Hard to beat Red Wings. Worked in commercial building site development work for over 30 years. Red Wings and Justin were the only boots that held up to me and were comfortable for a 10-12 hr day. I wear RedWings when I ride the scoot

both my Redwings and Justins were wedge soles which did much better for a 12hr day on a job site
