Yes you're right the conference as a whole may make more than the Big 12 but as a single school nobody pulls in more than Texas. They squeezed a retarded amount of the Big 12 profit sharing when they were threatening to jump conferences. That doesn't even include the fact that they have their own TV network that they reap all the rewards from. As a single entity no school can claim more money than Texas

are we talking about just as a football program? or as an entire academic institution?

as a football program that was true up until the middle of 2012. then bama took the reigns. but very closely followed by texas, then notre dame

Sure Coach Saban's agent gets calls all the time. It would be news if his phone was not ringing. You have success and folks test the waters. Saban is at Alabama until he is not. As long as he, Alabama is always going to field a championship quality team. The first line in the ESPN blog linked below kind of sums it up "For the umpteenth time, and with emphasis, Nick Saban isn’t looking for a new job".
