Would you like a jar of vaseline with that?? (Not Safe For Craigslisters)

:argue:

You're well written argument mentioned Econ101...

The price remains the same = the guy that owns 100 stripped lowers continues to buy them, leaving few to none for the poor slob who failed to prepare.

The price skyrockets = the guy with 100 stripped lowers stops buying and the poor schmuck who didn't prepare manages to finally get his grubby hands on one, albeit at a signficantly higher price than if he'd planned ahead.

My two cents are most folks are in one of two camps, the prepared folks in one camp couldn't care less (not could care less....(if you could care less, why don't you)) and therefore don't comment. The other camp is the poor unprepared schmucks, who realize they didn't prepare and are chaffing under the increased financial burden of entering the prepared camp...

Now here it comes:

It appears that I represent a third camp, the camp that was prepared, seeks nothing, other than to feed a craving for trading, and continues to speak out against the degradation of his hobby brought on by those wishing to take advantage of a "panic" situation, (and as detailed in my original post).

I do agree that there may be a percentage of people who feel butt-hurt for their ill preparedness, however, it is evident to me that more than 2 camps exist.

I agree, I'm happy with what I have at the moment with the exception of I can't find a G26 that someone isn't asking 700 bucks for.

The commies just established price controls on food stores and supermarkets in Argentina. In a matter of hours, the shelves were more or less empty. Panic buying to get what you can while it is there, and suppliers are refusing to re-stock for less than their cost. Coming soon to a supermarket near you.

Good thing we aren't faced with the same shortages here; I'm happy to see many stores receiving regular orders from their suppliers and stock this merchandise for pre-panic priced retail transactions.

I'm glad to see the abundance of product available on the ODT which seems to remain available due to high asking prices, and while it appears to trend slightly downward in price, it is evident by the current mass of unanswered ads that some folks are not buying into the "panic".

I'm especially happy to see that several pawn shops / gun stores have full racks of Pmags and AK mags which do not appear to be selling like hot cakes at $55 and $45 respectively....... Perhaps normality is within grasp...... :noidea:

I stopped in a gun store yesterday and overheard the salesman explaining to a customer how people that charge 7-800.00 for a Glock are gouging people but they still charge 599.00. As I looked around I see 223 ammo for 15.00/box and beta mags for 500.00. I left soon after that. You are or you aren't, make up your mind.

Well said, but if I read one more new thread about price gougers or any of that then i'm gonna remove my account. I'm just sick of the crying. Don't like the deal, don't take it. I personally abhor gouging, but I don't waste everyone's time crying about it. It is what it is. I've been hunting, shooting, and carrying guns all my life, over 30 years now. I've never heard or seen so many "crying threads"!
