Would you like a jar of vaseline with that?? (Not Safe For Craigslisters)

It appears that I represent a third camp, the camp that was prepared, seeks nothing, other than to feed a craving for trading, and continues to speak out against the degradation of his hobby brought on by those wishing to take advantage of a "panic" situation, (and as detailed in my original post).

I do agree that there may be a percentage of people who feel butt-hurt for their ill preparedness, however, it is evident to me that more than 2 camps exist.

I'm in that camp with you bro...

I just find it odd that you read threads, boycotting online retailers and manufacturers yet, it's perfectly acceptable to wallet rape if you're a single person. I know of people who still do not buy Spikes because they raised their prices over the last AWB. CTD raised theirs and all are up in arms but, I can find an ad on here with the seller posting a new batch of GA Arms, that anybody can go and get themselves for 1/2 of the seller's asking price.

With enough time and buyer ignorance, you can sell for almost any price. That doesn't make it the "right" price. It just means that the buyer didn't know any better. At least when a dealer/Retailer raises their prices, there are taxes to be paid. Secondhand only benefits the seller.

I'm not a prepper so, the concept of not being prepared does not apply. I just like to shoot and be able to resupply when needed.

Out of curiosity, I have noticed that some people get infractions for a simple GLWS... really? Some mods seem to have sense of humor, clean up Ads and move on... some seem hellbent on handing out infractions? To each their own but wow.. maybe comments for all ads should be turned off? Seems like everyone is on edge. (Jester7)

Gosh, I must be one of the "crusty old bastards". I am and I admit it. No harm there. But really? There are rules, there have been updates. You do not have to agree with them. I still do not understand why anyone has to post anything negative in an ad. Why? How does it hurt you? If it sells, it was the right price. If it doesn't, it is too high. Everyone has the opinions, and that is fine. But posting negative comments in an ad is a no go. BTW, I do know what insipid means.

HAHA... sorry, JWC, I was targetting a specific person that was an ass to people on a thread for no reason... not you bro. I'm also a crusty old bastard (ask my wife)... I agree about the rules but some things I've seen might not have actually been a negative but was reacted to my the Powers that be as negative. I respect you for your opinions, your support of the site and your memberships in organizations that support our rights... carry on.

Crusty Old Bastards for life... heh

EDIT: And for the badass handgun in your avatar... a true American beauty!

Respectfully nSquared, the difference is that the companies you mention are not members of this site. Adventure Outdoors takes a beating at times on here, and they support our site. The rules state that if a member posts an ad, no negative comments in the ad. I have some guns that I have had for 1 year or longer. Paid market price for them when I bought them. If I decided to sell some of them, there are those on here that would want me to sell them for the market price 1 year ago. While I have no intention of selling them, if I did, I would ask market price for them today. I can ask any price I want in my ad. Doesn't make it the right price, but it is my price. If someone buys what I have for sell at the price I want, does that make the ignorant, or do they just want my gun?

Jester7, hahaha! Crusty old bastards unite! I know what you mean. There are now and there always have been members who act like an a$$. What I have found recently, is that you do not have to be a crusty old bastard to be an a$$. I do support this site, may not always agree with some stuff, but it is what it is. Thanks for the kind words on the avatar. I shot it recently, but that is another thread.

I personally don't care that you seek current "market" value for your gun, but if you somehow think that the "market" is $1000 for your used Glock, then I personally fear for your mental health......

I'm not debating semantics over what should nor should not be allowed to be posted on ads but, more of a defense on why others may. I also narrowed my topic to ammo since, I'm not in the market for another gun. Guns can be unique and it can be hard to gain accurate pricing since, many of you guys put time and work into your firearms.

While not all ammo is the same, the categories are. It's simply a douchebag move to buy such from a retailer just to flip on here. One, you're selling it so, obviously it's not needed. 2. Such actions are creating a much higher demand than necessary and causes a chain reaction. Ammo being the "HOT" item to buy and sell so, even non gun enthusiasts are doing it. You used a gun for example and it may be just that. The may just want "your" gun. In the case of ammo, those buying high are ignorant or simply desperate. Those benefiting from it are just taking advantage of that fact.

I haven't paid over .45 for ammo and refuse to do so. Yes, it limits the amount of shooting I can do, due to rationing. That in itself, pisses me off.

I'll note that the use of "you" and "you're" were not directed at you.

/end rant

Yeah, one day if I'm ever as cool as Steve (not gonna happen) I can start my own site, until then I will try to be good (also probably not gonna happen). HAHA, yeah... Young Whippersnapper Bastards :) Sometimes I feel like telling them to get off the grass... it's sad that I've become my Granddad (although I finally understand him)
