"Free Market- Capitalism". Is not defined by your opinion. You either get it or you don't. It does not require a degree in economics. It is pure and simple, driven by supply and demand.
The current up-tick in demand for " assault " related weapons, ammo and hi-cap mags has driven prices up for the time being. I for one have actually enjoyed the flurry of buying, selling and trading. I have bought, sold, and traded more in the recent weeks than in the recent months. Much of which was done "behind the seen", so to speak, or with a small circle of guys that were also enjoying the frenzy. I have not sold any firearms. I did have one listed for trade. A fine ODT'r wanted it but I already had what he was offering for trade. Every other day or so he would send me a PM adding Pmags or cash. Eventually I took him up on the offer that was indeed in my favor. While chating with him at the Waffel House I mentioned a particular AR I was looking for......a few days later he sends me a Text. " Guess what I just bought today". It was on. I try'd to play it cool but he had me and knew it. ( This was a very hard to find AR and at the top of my wish list.) Yeah I got it but not without returning the extras I got on the first trade.....plus a few Ben Franklins to boot. This trade...unlike the previous trade was in his favor, but I got the AR I was most looking for and was very happy to have made the trades. The up-tick in perceived values did nothing to diminish the transactions. I enjoyed it along with the other member. All of the AR's I have bought have been at or near regular retail prices. I have sold none of them ( yet ). Of the 3 AR trades I have made, 2 were not in my favor based on MSRP or regular pricing. All were done of my own free will. I was not forced to buy or trade anything.
While some of YOU have been " Whining, Crying, Complaining and Boycotting.
Some of US have been having a ball..............
Thanks ODT.
