Would you like a jar of vaseline with that?? (Not Safe For Craigslisters)

"Free Market- Capitalism". Is not defined by your opinion. You either get it or you don't. It does not require a degree in economics. It is pure and simple, driven by supply and demand.

The current up-tick in demand for " assault " related weapons, ammo and hi-cap mags has driven prices up for the time being. I for one have actually enjoyed the flurry of buying, selling and trading. I have bought, sold, and traded more in the recent weeks than in the recent months. Much of which was done "behind the seen", so to speak, or with a small circle of guys that were also enjoying the frenzy. I have not sold any firearms. I did have one listed for trade. A fine ODT'r wanted it but I already had what he was offering for trade. Every other day or so he would send me a PM adding Pmags or cash. Eventually I took him up on the offer that was indeed in my favor. While chating with him at the Waffel House I mentioned a particular AR I was looking for......a few days later he sends me a Text. " Guess what I just bought today". It was on. I try'd to play it cool but he had me and knew it. ( This was a very hard to find AR and at the top of my wish list.) Yeah I got it but not without returning the extras I got on the first trade.....plus a few Ben Franklins to boot. This trade...unlike the previous trade was in his favor, but I got the AR I was most looking for and was very happy to have made the trades. The up-tick in perceived values did nothing to diminish the transactions. I enjoyed it along with the other member. All of the AR's I have bought have been at or near regular retail prices. I have sold none of them ( yet ). Of the 3 AR trades I have made, 2 were not in my favor based on MSRP or regular pricing. All were done of my own free will. I was not forced to buy or trade anything.

While some of YOU have been " Whining, Crying, Complaining and Boycotting.

Some of US have been having a ball..............

Thanks ODT.

Too much to read this early....
Anyone got Cliffs Notes or condensed version?

Don't be a dick.

Oh, and while you're at it don't be a ***** either.

I,ve never bought anything on ODT, but I do like the site. I have more gun,s and ammo that I could want and I dont like to trade gun,s because I like all of my stuff. So all an all I,am here for the good company but I can see where the people that have been here for year,s get upset when they see something put up for sale at crazy prices and some one,s first post is an AR for $2000.00 that new was $700.00. I just look at the add,s an say to my self holy grap an laugh an I dont feel sorry for anybody that pay,s good money for stuped priced gun,s. What do I know I,am just an Old Man that love,s gun,s and thanke,s GOD that I have been stock pilling gun,s and mag,s and ammo for 40 year,s

Vanguard? Izzat you? Still can't operate an apostrophe I see. You know..I've, not "I,ve". Oh and, hey bro....guns and mags are plural(no " , " or even " ' " needed).

You are not the only one who fears for my mental health! My wife does all the time!

Im wit ya bro...mine tells me I'm paranoid...paranoid? ME! Man my wife is Russian...when a RUssian tells you you're paranoid it makes you really worry. Or am I just being paranoid about being paranoid? Eeps!

If I have over estimated the price of my gun, then it will not sell.

Is THAT what the problem is? Man I figured folks just didn't realize what a great opportunity I was offering them. Awww, they'll come around. ;)

It appears that I represent a third camp, the camp that was prepared, seeks nothing, other than to feed a craving for trading, and continues to speak out against the degradation of his hobby brought on by those wishing to take advantage of a "panic" situation, (and as detailed in my original post).

I do agree that there may be a percentage of people who feel butt-hurt for their ill preparedness, however, it is evident to me that more than 2 camps exist.

I,am in the 3rd group also, I dont need anything and have plenty of gun,s, mag,s an ammo. I think everyone,s learned a very good lesson, the shtf in the 90,s and now in 2013 so it will happen again so dont stand around with your hand,s in your pocket,s. When thing,s settle down get what you want when the geting is good and be prepared.:amen:

Epic :pound:

But we know it's not Vanny, this isn't a gay thread....... :p

AirOpsMgr, your original post is probably the BEST post about noobs flooding the ODT the last couple of months and trying to dump all their stuff at quadruple the regular prices for USED CRAP I have ever read! Thank you sir.
