I will preface this thread by saying: Yes, I realize there have been multiple threads pertaining to "overpriced ads" and other general *****ing and moaning on here lately, and while I also realize that many feel "why do you care about other people's prices and for-sale ads", I am going to still speak my mind and try to provide an all-inclusive summary ..... Mods, feel free to make it a sticky if you desire
While I, myself, am now admittedly perpetuating the trend of âbeating a dead horseâ topics, I do so hoping that, perhaps one person, may read this and grasp a better understanding of my, and some other memberâs utter distain, for the following topics.
Although I am posting this mainly just to blow off some steam, there is this little arrow in your control panel pointing to the left that you can click right now to get you away from this post should you not have any further interest in dead horse molestation.......... feel free to exercise that click .... if you decide against this and post apic, well, thanks for playing
Okay, you're still here, I shall begin
Most of the members here realize that it is every ODT member's inalienable right to attempt to make a profit and post up Glocks for $800-$1000, DPMS sporticals for $1200-$2500, WASR 10/63's for $1000-$1500, Ruger P90's for $400, P-mags for ..... well ..... never mind ..... you get the point, but, yes, this fact is understood, that said, lets move on
Here is what I don't understand:
Why on GOD's green earth do some users not understand that some of us retain the process of free thought to disagree with their supposed âCapitalistâ motives??
Are you really going to hide behind the mask of this free website, (of which some of us support financially.... another topic entirely) and cry like sand has fallen into certain crevasses and whine that people are objecting to your prices without realizing that, for a large portion of members, we see it as dropping a deuce in âourâ pool????
Sure, the administrator and mods of this site have done an outstanding job of being fair and equal to all, across the board (as a matter of fact, probably the most fair I have ever seen), however, I remain curious to whether or not some of the classified ad posters (some of which I prefer to call Craigslisters) understand that there are some of us, that frequent this board regularly, that take offense to ads that do not at least offer a full, unopened jar, of Vaseline with the astronomical asking prices?
While I'm on this particular tangent, let me also get a few other things off my chest....
1. If you *****ed about CTD shipping prices 6 months ago, or posted anything about "Boycotting" a store or vendor due to their pricing strategies, don't post about "capitalism" and expect us to take you seriously
2. If you ever posted aor a facetious comment in a classified ad before, don't post about capitalism and expect us to take you seriously just because you are now trying to hock your own stuff
3. If you ever talked **** about a poly lower, or a SOTA upper before, don't try to hock that **** now for $1700 and expect us to take you seriously just because of the âcurrent marketâ
4. If you have become a member in DEC 2012, JAN 2013, or FEB 2013, and post an ad about how things used to be on ODT, or, commit any number of obvious faux-pas that lead us to believe that you have created another screen name just to hock your guns and act like a wanna-be-pawn broker without tarnishing your original username, don't expect us to take you seriously. Granted, this is not ourâs to decide, but if you are guilty of this, why not grow a pair and man up, we would appreciate it, cupcake.
5. If you want to ***** about me posting this and think that I am acting "holier than thou" for having an opinion that differs from yours, and/or, want to make a comment about "America" and how our military fought for a cause, and/or, your only retort is "Who are YOU to question an ad relating to someone else's asking price; ________, __________, etc, (fill in the blanks), PLEASE don't expect us to take you seriously and re-read the start of this paragraph..... Itâs almost automatically understood that you are trolling .... Yeah, weâre on to you .... get over it
6. If you buy out the ammo at the local Academy, Wal-Mart or any other establishment selling at pre-panic pricing and try to hock it on ODT for double or triple the price while using the excuse that you are just increasing the price to compensate for your time incurred standing in a line at zero-dark-thirty to gain such deals, don't expect us to take you seriously...... again .... at least offer a jar of Vaseline.......
7. If you feel that you have somehow been wronged by this post, I would offer the suggestion that you change your name from Nancy to another more masculine name, retrieve your manhood from your wife's / girlfriend's / significant other's purse, and realize that perhaps there is a reason why you might feel such offense
In closing, while I realize that the above comments might come across as cruel and overly harsh, I am simply speaking my opinion, and the opinion of many that agree with me. I am already well aware that I am a HUGE ass, idiot, douche-bag, etc, etc ...... all of which concerns me not, in the least.
Should you agree with me and feel that I missed a certain topic, feel free to add it below; should you disagree with me and somehow feel that I need yet another lesson in ECON101, well then, you are certainly welcome to post your statement regarding "Market value is determined by what someone will pay for an item", or, "This is the current market, get over it", or, "I donât care and want to try to turn a buck by buying up ammo at Wal-Mart and putting it on ODT for double the price and hide behind the guise of "capitalism" ...... well,go for it, all comments welcome, I can take it as equally as I dish it out ..... which seems to be something that has been lost with many real men as of late
So ends my soap-box rant; just needed to ensure that the dead horse was fully beaten into glue
