Flux and solder aren't that expensive. Neither's a pencil type soldering iron.
He should pick them up for when his cold solder joint fails and he needs to do it right.

How was the flame hot enough to melt the lead bullet but not ignite the gunpowder or primer??
If I was over at a buddy's house & saw him doing that I'd be like
