Don't waste your time with those others.
I found most are firm on the list price and not even willing to haggle anymore. I mean people can ask what they want all day long, who’s paying for it? Maybe a person who shouldn’t be buying comes to mind
It goes right along with today’s lack of respect also.
It used to be that someone’s word meant something, especially if they wanted their rep in tact.
Now it doesn’t mean squat.

It's the real world technique on how you buy a car. Make an offer, walk off and wait and see if they come off the price. Everybody does it but because it's on the ODT interweb, it's considered ghosting. It's how they negotiate. If they wanted it at your offer, they'd be back.

Nope, thats not usually the case, at all. What motivated this thread are mostly people contacting me, and if it ever is me floating a counter offer, it wasn't anything crazy or insulting (in fact, I would typically just ask if they are firm, or if theres any manouvering room, rather than just posting, "take tree-fiddy?"
) I'm talking about people who just up and disappear in the middle of an otherwise polite discussion/negotiation. And as mentioned above, I see the same thing on CL and Marketplace. This didn't seem so common here, a few years back.
