Eh... I first ran into a unisex bathroom in a German rest stop in 1982. Shocking to a 10th grader... for about 30 seconds. Then never again. These were stalls that went all the way to the floor, but males and females next door to each other in one big room with shared sinks. Don't remember urinals in there, but it was 36 years ago.

Plenty of public urinals on the streets in Amsterdam. The portable ones have no screen whatsoever. Just sidle up and go. And yeah, I've used them. No one pays the slightest attention.
