Wonder if this could be brought back to life. Said barrel is plugged, haven't seen it in person.
Worst case could learn / practice gunsmithing skills and refinish and display it.

For restoring yes I think so, plenty of interesting 1911 electrolysis videos on YouTube. I do not think that's a usgi gun but rather some sort commemorative

Glad I asked, never seen the m1911 in person before. Though the way the oxidation looks and the grips I was thinking it looked fishy. Never seen one oxidize like that and the grip looks plastic.

Back to my original search. I want a 1903 hammerless that isn't collectible to bring it back to like new and carry it.

Looks a bit like an MGC replica from the grips. They were very accurate metal reproductions. The gun doesn't look up to their quality.

Some issue 1911 A1's did have plastic grips, not sure if all did.
