I have a 1915 Erfurt K98a/K98az(whatever you want to call it), and am wondering if it is safe to shoot the heavy ball 198 grain ammo out of it. The only hesitation I have with it is that the WWI Kar98 is a small ring reciever, not a large ring like the Gewehr 98 or the WWII K98. I have some Yugoslavian ammo I'd like to shoot in it. Or would it be better to use the 154 grain Romanian 8mm mauser ammo in the spam cans?

Any thoughts, ideas, and experience would be greatly appreciated.

I would only shoot the lower pressure ammo through her for safety reasons. Besides, that 198gr kicks like an angry mule
