Yard bird on the "smoker"

And, when I say yard bird, I mean chickens out of my own back yard :) Pretty sad what I am using as a smoker, when my father builds professional units, but it works. Threw a bit of a rub together and smoking w/ a combination of apple and cherry woods. Homemade BBQ sauce and baked beans are already going. Still have to throw the slaw and potato salad together before the girlfriend gets off work.

This is a big ol hunk of Norman that I smoked a couple of weeks ago, also from our backyard. I thought that I had over cooked it, but it turned out almost perfect. Very tender and tasty w/ the BBQ sauce that I whipped up. And before anyone starts, I happen to like BBQ sauce. I am not covering up the flavor of anything!! :boink:

norman, lol.. you dad builds units ? my cousin is looking to get into bbq competitions and looking for an offset smoker if you have some built or whatnot lemme know
