So my buddy and I needed to make several perfectly cut circles to go into some tubes of different diameters.
These tubes would be laminated with a strange green linoleum kind of stuff to be used as pedestals for a store display.

Our jig saw was down and tools were limited so my buddy shows me a trick he learned from someone else who learned from someone else.

So the trick is to cut a stick to fit into the miter channel in the table.
Glue, or in our case, nail a base board to that stick that you will affix your circle to.
If your circle is to be 20” across then measure from the left side of the blade 10” to your base board and make a pencil mark.
Drill a small hole there.
Drill a same sized hole in the center your work piece (circle) and attach the two together using those holes.
To find the center of a square board draw an X from corner to corner and the center will present itself in the middle of the X.
In our case we just used the drill bit stuck into both holes as our pivot.

The video speaks for the rest.
Yeas be careful and don’t cut your fingers off.

This is a video I shot of the process.
