ill take my smith 351pd and browning tbolt 22mag. both weight in right under 6.5 lbs. gallon size freezer bags holds lots of ammo comfortable in a pack and dont rattle around. both can be shot hundreds of times without cleaning unlike semi auto's. keeping pistol and rifle ammo the same just keeps things simple and being a 22mag ammo is light.
I'm too old to run.......unless my house is on fire, I will stay right close by and try to survive by evasive actions and only fighting if all else fails. I have supplies and survival guns/gear and ammo here. Me trying to move about stealthily would be almost impossible for any great distance. If I was forced out, I would take a .22 LR rifle and a Glock 26 with 4,000 .22 and 1,000 9mm. I don't intend to engage in a firefight no matter what weapon I had. I could defend myself up close if needed, but prefer to use my weapons for food gathering and self defense as a last resort. I really think all of the Rambo types will die off quickly because they will go looking for a firefight instead of avoiding one. Am I chicken or a coward....I don't think so. I have been in firefights and they suck even when you win. One or two people engaging in a gun fight against a mob will burn a lot of ammo, draw attention to their location and probably end up being dead any way. The best way to SURVIVE is to avoid confrontation, not look for an excuse to engage in it.

Nope. The gun and the ammo weighs too much. I'm not about to carry it or even 5000 rounds of 22.
to me the ak is more of a cqb or suppressive fire weapon. Put a lot of rounds the the direction of the target. If I'm on foot I wanna make accurate shots and keep moving.

AR15, glock 17. 22 Conversion kits for both. a few playboys and some jerky.
So since everyone seems to think "why would I ever leave my house" for the sake of argument lets say you're jewish and the nazis are at the door and have already set the front of the house on fire .... you can either run or burn to death. For the sake of the question it really doesn't matter WHY though so much as what you would take with you when you did run.
