Just wondering if all of you talking about investing in this or that actually remember how bad the economy was in 83. Or were you guys born with money. I wish I was born rich instead of just extremely good looking.

I was mailing small amount checks to stock investing companies back in the 90's. Even $10 could be invested.

Yeah, that was after the Reagan years. 83 was after Carter. Reagan took office in '81 but it took a few years for his policies to get the economy back on track.

In Carter's defense (I can't believe I'm saying this), one of his most valuable contributions was to appoint Paul Volcker to chair the Fed.

I was a recent graduate from boot camp. Going to school at Naval Air Technical Training Center in Millington TN. I probably would have told myself to drink less beer and save more money. I wouldn't have listened.

i am assuming i am my age now, not my age in 1983.
so i rob some banks and bury the cash in the yard at the house i live in now.
if i could find gold, i would bury it. but with only a day, the cash is probably the best bet....

I go tell my younger self to not get married on September 9th 83 to the slut I was going with at the time. And hug my father who passed in October of 83 at the age of 48.
