What do you not like about it?
The one thing I hated (the Auto Stop-Start) I bought the work-around for. The lack of a telescoping steering column I think has been fixed on the '25 model year.

Auto up/down on both the driver and passenger front windows would have been nice. I had gotten used to having it on all four in my Passat.

I wish it had a three-spoke steering wheel. Super minor I know, just what I am used to

The location of the driver front power seat controls is very poor. I think if they had just made it all manual adjust, it would have been better.

Lastly, the choices on the exterior lighting I find odd. The mix of halogen and LED lights doesn't make sense to me but maybe it's some NHTSA BS.

All silly, very minor stuff really.

I was waiting on the new body style Frontier in 2021, when I was looking for a new truck. As it turned out, I ended up with a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, it's a nice truck, but I really wanted a new Frontier.

I had a 2012 Frontier that was a base 2WD "S" model w/ a 6 speed manual transmission. I drove the snot out of that truck. From Atlanta to Wisconsin more times than I care to remember. I put 100k on it in less than 6 years, including a few years in Wisconsin winters. All I did was oil changes, tires, a new battery and 1 tail light bulb. That's it.

I only had 2 major complaints with that truck...
1st no power locks, that unlocked all of the doors at once, I had to reach in and unlock the back doors, that was the biggest pain in the ass, since I put gear on my back seat all the time.
2nd no power rear view mirrors, this was terrible when driving at highway speeds, and driver's with bright ass headlamps behind me.

I think you did better getting the Toyota. But sounds like you had good luck with that Nissan. I bought a Nissan Hard Body in 96, I think it was. There was a Toyota next to it. I should've bought the Toyota, I'd probably still be driving it. Nissan has long been gone. The front axle fell out of it

You'll likely be driving it a long, long time
11 years so far. Minimum it should be good to go at 20 years old. I love my truck and try to take good care of it. Probably helps I spend a lot of time gone, truck just sitting in the garage. The only thing for maintenance on a 2nd gen Tacoma I will farm out is transmission fluid. Otherwise, all easy enough.

I've been driving my F250 for 31yrs and counting. It's always been my daily driver. I also have a 24yr old GMC and a 20yr old Dodge. My wife has a 25yr old Camry, going on 400k. I also have a 33yr old Mercedes and a 41yr old Monte Carlo
