so i acquired a yugoslavian m48 rifle that is in great shape, this will look great in the collection

it has some " trench art" on it in the form of cryptic alphabet letters and a crest engraved via a knife, so someone felt it was important enough to engrave it on the rifle

can anyone translate these letters for me?
the crest/cross to my knowledge is translated into "only unity saves the serbs"

I had a M48 and she was a sweet shooter. i used HOT yugo Surplus. I ended up buy a new firing pin spring cause i was getting lite strikes on the primers. I got it from Wolf. BUT DANG they shoot well.

Means Ckalja, a nick name or given name. Common older Serbian name.

Serbian National Insignia, with the word Srbija below, meaning Serbia.

Miodrag. Just a name.

ЧКАЉА can be pronounced as CHKALYA. Not a common name at all. It was a nickname of a famous Serbian comedian. СРБИЈА is Serbian for, you guessed it, Serbia, you can read is as Srbiya. МИОДРАГ is a fairly common Serbian first name, pronounced mee-o-drag.
