Item Description: Great condition Enfield .303 No. 5 Jungle Carbine modified and built by Golden State Arm's,Pasadena , Cali. These were fairly common yrs ago when Golden State was rebuilding rifles to sporter conversions in the late 50's-60's for sale using almost new Enfield's No 4's from left over inventory from WWII. This ones in great condition ,minor wear and I added the scope and walnut cheekpiece to complement the rifle 3-4 inch groups at 100 yrds with standard ammo,1-1 1/2 inch groups with better custom ammo readily available. Here's a link to info on these rebuilds I found interesting, http://webpages.uidaho.edu/stratton/SantaFeRifles.htm. They are getting rarer and harder to find so I think the pricing appropriate with the additional scope mount and cheekrest. You will have to come to me to purchase. These are collectable and only going up in value, great shiny bore

I'm normally not a fan of sporterized military rifles (and growing up in the late 60's-early 70's I saw a lot) but I really like this one.
Enfield .303's used to take a lot of whitetail each season back in the day.
Good luck with sale.

Thanks this particular rifle while not an original No5 as far as I can tell is better than most other rust bucket pitted ,dark-pitted- bore rifles shown on here by other's made by Enfield. It does have a No.5 stamped on the side of the receiver so it may have possibly been an original revamped and rebarreled by G.S.Arms. It is an excellent shooter and will outshoot many other Enfields it has shot against in vintage class competitions. It will make a great deer rifle, but I used it primarily in Vintage Sniper class competitions along with the 8mm Mauser I have listed as well
