Item Description: For sale is a 1943 Smith-Corona 1903A3 rifle. Original barrel marked with Smith-Corona's personal "flaming bomb" used during the United States during the World Wars. This rifle's bore is clean and shoots approximately a 6" group at 500 yards. No rust whatsoever and very little to no pitting anywhere. This stock is assumed to be an arsenal refurbish because it has the Springfield "crossed cannons" cartouche next to the inspector cartouche. The inspector mark is "FJA", which is assumed by many to be the most wanted inspector for some reason. The overall condition of the stock is considered "Very Good". the finish is original and very clean and dark, which many collectors look for. Nothing on this rifle has been tinkered with or sporterized. It is exactly the same as how it came to me from the CMP. This rifle does not come with the cleaning kit because when I opened the trapdoor in the stock it was melted in and disintegrating. It was causing a foul odor in my safe, so I removed it carefully (and lost it after the fact). The reason this rifle is priced so high is because this is the best condition 1903 I have seen thus far and everything is in great shape and it shoots very well. I also bought an extra firing pin head and ejector. Those come with the gun.
I have a .30Cal ammo can full of .30-06 with no rust on a single cartridge (approximately 300 rounds). The ammo is an additional $250. That is around 80 cents a round. I will work with you on price for the ammo within reason.
Price of the rifle is negotiable. I am also looking for a PTR91 with a welded rail on top as well. Will also trade for a PSL-54c, FPK Dragunov, etc. Would also trade for a Ruger Precision Rifle (the new one that came out recently) in .243 or .308.
