    Mauser 1908 ?'s

    FYI did a quick check of Mauser action lengths... the 7mm action was the shortest; the 6.5 Swede action 1/8" longer; the GEW98 1/4" longer than 7mm, Mod98 slightly longer still. So your 1908 action should be in the 7mm shorter category... guess that's why Dad built his 1960's deer gun on a 1908...

    Hey this looks like a German-made 1908 export Mauser that went to Brazil. Because it is 7mm the action is shorter than the 8mm, a good choice for conversion to the shorter .308 rather than the 30-06 conversions done to the 8mm Mausers. You can see the rays of the sun from the Brazilian Crest...
