Having previously hunted on WMA land several years ago, Ricky Ranger showed up, asked for licenses and told us we couldn't hunt at night. There was no prohibition listed for hunting at night. He also told us we couldn't stay overnight, there was no mention of camping or no camping on the DNR...
We probably can't do any of that on WMA land. I've even heard that we cant use suppressors, camp over night or have a fire of any kind on WMA land. Which is why we typically look for someone with a hog problem. If it gets bad enough farmers should consider our free service.
Depending on the location and availability of wood, we dig a hole in the ground, build a large bonfire in it while we skin out the better hog, take two ten foot steel pipes to make a gurney, use chicken wire and aluminum foil and after seasoning we wrap him up in aluminum foil run the poles...
I'm looking for a place as well. I have a group of friends - former "students" of mine - none of which are under 50 years old, and we all have thermals, 4/6 have suppressors, 2-way comms and we have hand held thermals as well, RV's and campers, and we are looking for anyone who needs hog help...

Ok, so you have started down the path of having reliable backup power during a power outage. If you didn’t already know (and you should already know), you need to know that your backup power source is “emergency” power. It has limitations. Let me explain:
Your home was...
My definition of using less is to design the SHTF power system around what will we need when the SHTF. In the mean time I use as much as I can afford - mainly in an effort to build what we need should the grid start failing with the trending push to make everyone plug in a car, or two, or...
Underground is the way to go. If you are going to spend the money to bury an underground tank, you might as well save a small fortune and go the 1000 gallon route. The cost for a 1000 gallon underground tank is not twice as expensive as a 500 gallon - it was only 50% more expensive back when...
Let the SHTF and your above ground propane tank will more than likely develop a .223 or .308 caliber leak in it because thats just how mean people will get.
We own all of our tanks, all underground, and you are correct....owning your tank(s) makes it possible to get better deals on the per-gallon cost. And, having LARGE tanks makes purchasing LPG only necessary every three years or so - or NEVER if the SHTF tank is kept full and doesn't have a leak...
There is a really good documentary "The Dark Side of Green Energies" that mirrors what you are saying here. The problem is our government is NOT investing in cleaner energy research. A positive fusion reaction was supposedly accomplished recently, but they are saying it'll be another 10 years...
Its always fun to enlighten one of those Tesla owners who thinks they are going to install a solar system at their house to charge their Tesla. A system large enough to recharge a Tesla actually costs as much as that Tesla. Most Tesla's have a 100Kw battery. Some of the emerging EV's have...
