A transfer through an ffl has it in the system that I am no longer the owner just in case someone decides to commit a crime...

    Yea all ffl holders require a transfer (holding) fee when dealing with a firearm. Depending on who yours is (in this case mine) they can charge a flat rate. With this we don’t have to deal with bill of sale the weapon is legally in your name
