I got my butt kicked by them Alabama birds last week. They gobbled a couple times from the roost and didn’t make a sound until dark when they roosted.
When you get a bird in close range……and by close I mean 15 yards or less, aim for the top of the feathers at the bottom of the neck. The head and neck move suddenly at times and your shot pattern may be rather tight up close, causing you to miss. Aiming low on the neck will still kill them...
