Not at all just make sure your batteries are good, props are balanced and tighten screws. That is my basic preflight test. If I haven't taken it in a while I will take it up about 10 ft and let it hover to minute.
This was just one of my quadcopters I built. It is a cross between a drone and copter. I can fly it or I can program waypoints and have it fly autonomously.
I don't have a dvr so I can't record from the HOD. The video was from the gopro I had attached. But you can have altitude, temp, amps, heading and more on the HOD.
