  6. Question

Most times it takes a lot more care and prep to start a fire from a spark or ember. Mastering it the hard way helps you to be prepared for the worst. Like someone said ealier, without the proper prep, a lighter won't "create" a fire on its own. A person would be hard pressed to start a...
  7. It's that time of year....what are you loading / swapping out in your car/truck?

  14. Making Fire in the Snow

Knowing that reading about it and doing it are two different things, I've been trying to take advantage of this bad weather by practicing fire making. The first snow storm...no problem...fire in 10 minutes. Today, not so quick...maybe I was over confident. What I learned... I grabbed a 5...

  16. Camp Hatchet - Home Depot Find

Have been searching eBay for a hatchet head to re-handle and restore. Happened to be at Home Depot in Cumming and found this hatchet on sale. Regularly $18.99 on sale for around $5.80 and rang up at $4.70. Certainly not a high end product but hard to beat for 470 pennies.
