  1. If you could only have I gun

Sig MPX. Shoots suprisingly well with the right red dot and the 30 round mags make it a better choice than most pistolas. Plus can one hand it when you need the other.
  2. home depot did it again

My wife refers to me now as Fenix. My latest...
  3. Blade chat

A few more... Favorite fixed are the Becker's, favorite folders are Benchmade. The Barrage is my EDC.
  4. Blade chat

For my GHB I like the Benchmade Rant in 440C but like the Ka-Bar BK16 for hard duty.
  5. Will military be on our side during shtf?

This thread reminds me of equations in college that were near impossible to solve. Too many variables. Think the best solution is individual preparedness with a plan to protect the ones you love. Nothing else matters.
  6. Swords for SHTF

Like my Camillus machete. Seems pretty well made.
  7. TruPrep Roswell Now Open!

Good place to get your PMC ammo by the case.
  8. How much ammo

I for one will keep my old uniform and LBE vest in the closet unless it's Halloween. There's lots of creative ways to conceal firepower these days. And if not, there's always my ghillie suit ;) Agree that you can't have too much ammo but have thought how much I could reasonably bug out with...
  9. What did you do to better your prep today?

That's the trick, can or dehydrate vs. throwing away what you don't eat.
  10. Best of the prepared foods?

    Bought there today. Recommend.
  11. What did you do to better your prep today?

Looked at pressure canners, bought more CR123 batts.
  12. Good survival knife choice

It's what I carried for SAR and what I keep now in my GHB. Have lots of knives and if I only could have one, this would be it.
  13. What's a good compass?

If you're doing Land Nav, go with a lensatic type. The army navy stores usually carry decent ones under $20, unless you want a GI spec tritium which will cost 3 to 4 times more. Used these for Land Nav and SAR training and did just fine.
  14. Bug out bag contents

This topic always interests me but I find my BOB too heavy for all events. Keep in mind how far you may have to trek with your BOB and load out only what you need for that particular event. Right now I have a large duffel which I can load and unload my BOB with only what I need to bug out...
  15. One thing people seem to overlook in prepping!

I plan on foraging for all my contact needs
  16. 2013 what if it hits the fan senerio!

    ^^^This.
  17. Bug Out to the Bug In

This is the scenario that worries me the most... Something happens that rioting breaks out in urban areas of Atlanta (or any major city) and I am at work when this occurs. As most of us probably spend more time at work than at home (not counting sleep), I see the timing (me being at work) as...
  18. I stopped by the "Survival Store" today

Got by there today, picked up a new knife at a fair price. Lots of survival gear and long-store food. Nice guy who runs it too. I will be going back.
  19. Most likely SHTF situation.

The issue won't be which neighborhoods burn but where you are when it starts. The question you need to ask yourself is how I will get back to my family once the chaos begins.
  20. Disaster Prepardness

I'm for hunkering down in the homestead, simply because I know the terrain and the neighbors. To take my family out into the unknown where the have-nots would take what you have and at best, leave you dead, is a bad scenario in my mind. Now, if I can leave before it gets bad, that's a...
